When it comes to quilting designs, whether it be created free hand or via an embroidery machine, they can some times become a little bit bland.
So we have decided to find a couple of ways to colour the quilting designs that come complete with the Janome Memory Craft 15000/12000/11000.
In the last couple of weeks we have been experimenting with a couple of different colour mediums. In the above examples we have used the Pebeo SetaSilk. With the SetaSilk you can just paint straight onto the fabric and when dry you can set it with a hot iron.
In the below examples we have used the Derwent Inktense pencils. With Inktense pencils we have tried a couple of different techniques, 1 is to draw onto the fabric dry and then wet the pencil marks after and the better more vibrant results we have obtained is by wetting the area to be coloured first and then using the pencil directly onto the wet area. We have used a textile medium instead of water to wet the area and that way it is colour fast after setting.
